A native of East Point, Georgia, Dr. Xavier Duralde joined Peachtree Orthopedics in 1993. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, specializing in shoulder surgery.
Dr. Duralde earned his A.B. from Harvard University and his M.D. from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. He remained at Columbia University for his orthopedic training and fellowship in shoulder and elbow surgery.
As an active member of Peachtree Orthopedics' volunteer team, Dr. Duralde visits Haiti annually to offer his services at the Hôpital Albert Schweitzer Haiti and outlying clinics. He has authored many publications regarding the shoulder, including primary research papers and book chapters. Dr. Duralde is regularly invited to speak nationally and internationally on various subjects of the shoulder.
A native of Atlanta, Dr. Timothy Griffith joined Peachtree Orthopedics in 2014. Board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, he is a fellowship-trained sports medicine surgeon specializing in shoulder, knee and elbow surgery. He is the Head Team Physician for the Atlanta Braves (MLB) and the Georgia Swarm (NLL).
Dr. Griffith earned his B.S. from the University of Georgia and his M.D. from the Medical College of Georgia. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the Mayo Clinic, and was awarded a sports medicine and shoulder fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery at Cornell University.
He has authored multiple research publications and book chapters and has lectured on the local, regional and national level on topics including: ulnar collateral ligament reconstruction, revision anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction, the biomechanical stabilizing properties of the medial collateral ligament of the knee, revision reverse total shoulder replacement, throwing shoulder injuries and baseball medical team management.
Dr. Obi Ugwonali joined Peachtree Orthopedics in 2006, and his areas of specialty include hand, wrist and microvascular surgery, and shoulder and elbow surgery. Board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, he also has a Certificate of Added Qualification in hand surgery.
Dr. Ugwonali obtained a B.A.S. from Stanford University and earned his M.D. at the Yale University School of Medicine. He then completed both a fellowship and orthopedic residency training at Columbia University. Dr. Ugwonali went on to pursue subspecialty fellowship training in hand, shoulder, elbow and microvascular surgery at Harvard School of Medicine's Brigham and Women's Hospital and Children's Hospital Boston.
He served as an assistant clinical professor of orthopedics for Emory University's department of orthopedic surgery. He is an orthopedic consultant at Haiti's Hôpital Albert Schweitzer Haiti and is the current chairman of orthopedic surgery at Northside Hospital in Atlanta.
Kevin Deter is the Chief Executive Officer of Peachtree Orthopedics (PO). He is responsible for the overall management and strategic direction of the independent orthopedic group comprised of 35 physicians and 450+ staff members.
Prior to being named as C.E.O., Kevin was PO's chief operating officer. He has held leadership positions at hospital and healthcare systems across the country, including organizations in Chicago, IL; Charlotte, NC and Atlanta, GA. His many accomplishments include implementing facility expansions and renovations, actualizing successful growth strategies, developing new service lines and programs and improving patient and employee satisfaction.
Kevin earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Healthcare Management from Western Kentucky University and a Master of Health Administration from Xavier University in Cincinnati, OH.
